Photograph No2. Distribution of Bananas 19th September 1950

Photograph shows 10 year old Peggy Hodgkinson(left) pointing to the port of Freetown, Sierra Leone, the home of the donor of the bananas sent to St. John's School. Kathleen Taylor(centre) and Gordon Ellis(right) are also 10 years old. Everyone at the school was delighted with the gift and thank the donor for his generosity.
Are these children still around?
Do you know them? I would love to find out more about these photographs.

Peggy Hodgkinson lived next door to the Bucks Head. She had an older brother who was a good goalkeeper. Her father was something to do with Abram Council.Next door to them lived Mr Bridge who was Headmaster at Bickershaw school.I was at Abram school at that time, aged 6,but I don't remember anything about the bananas.

A lovely photo of Margaret Hodkinson ,affectionally known as Peggy who I met when we both went to HAGS in 1951 and were in the same class. Her brother Alan also went to the Grammar School and was about a year older than Peggy. I have often wondered where they both are. I hope that one or both of them sees this photo and maybe leaves a comment.
