Thanks Alan,
Les Bromilow is my dad, he died last year and it is a lovely surprise to see him on Wigan World this morning.
I wonder if there is a way to download this picture and print it out (if that's OK with you).

Sorry Julie, we did'nt do computing at Whelley. My fault, I know how to do it now. Les is on another photo 1946. He is on the Front row with a white long sleeved shirt, he would be 11/12 then

Hi Alan
There seems to be 2 Julies on here. I would love to have a copy of this photo and the other one you put on. I have a copy of the one where he is wearing the white shirt. The man who posted it (can't remember his name now) sent it to me. I am particularly interested in the fact that you remember the shop. I will be coming down to Wigan next month and if possible would love to meet you for a chat.

Julie I will meet you, I live in Heskin, some 10 miles out of Wigan. I remember the shop and his mate Jimmy Greenalgh.
Last time i saw Les was in 1949 and I seem to remember David Oxley and him were going to start work at Clarington Forge

Hi Alan
What a terrific memory you have, you are right he did work at Clarington Forge. I have put my email address, if you can email me then I will have your email address to let you know when I am coming down from Scotland and we can arrange a meeting.
Thanks
Julie

What a surprise to see my big sister (Osa Old) in the photo and the previous year one.I emailed a copy of the photo to her last week. She lives just outside Glasgow now having moved there in 1958.

As a rider to my comment from 2017, with regret, Osa Old passed away aged 90 in September 2023 in Glasgow following a fall at her home. Her husband (my Brother in Law died in October 2021.
