Great photo. One thing that's really striking is how healthy and well all the kids look, not a fatty in sight. Must have been all the playing outside and exercise we got back then and the good wholesome cooking.

My goodness, this photo brings back memories! Although I do believe it is a couple of years later than 1958, as we were in the Juniors before we had Mr. Simcock as Form Teacher, and that was certainly before he became Headmaster...... Amazing how many names you have all managed to piece together!!!

I think the girl sitting between me and Christine Aldridge is Sharon Maybury, not "Vivienne" as Susan seemed to think ....

I have some sad news - I just saw on Facebook that Janet Sheppard passed away. I had no idea she was even ill, but her most recent photo shows her looking much older and tireder than her older posts. It looks like she died on October 3rd; I asked one of her friends how and am waiting to hear. RIP Janet https://www.facebook.com/janet.shepherd.98229?pnref=friends.search

Wow, never seen this photo before. I'm Karl Winnard, middle row, 2nd from left, Mick Fairhurst is directly above. Brent Higham lived across the road in Walkden Avenue East. I was only at the school for about 2 years but I think the date is 1960/1. Remember most of you.

I'm just catching up with this website and yeah, I remember almost everyone.
It was Edwina Hartley who lived at the bottom of Freckleton Street with her older brother Jimmy There was also Georgina (the eldest) and the youngest was Mary. I was so happy growing up there. It was a real community.
Karl, I remember your name only. I think you lived in Silverdale, near us in Goldenways, and your father was a good cricketer.
I have a box full of old photos never looked at in years and this inspires me to delve into it, thanks so much for your initiative, Anne.
So sad to hear Hugh's news about Janet.
Love to every one of you xxx
