THAT'S RIGHT, GERRY. HOW WELL I REMEMBER THEM.
Albion.
You mentioned Norman Cherrington being on the photo, do you mean the Norman Cherrington that later played for Wigan R.L.or was there another Norman Cherrington going to St Williams at that time (1953).Norman Cherrington who later played for Wigan had already left All Saints school in 1953, so he's somewhat older than the boys on this photo.
The boys name was Norman Sharples not Cherrington.
Me too Irene I spent time in both of them, the one on the right was Mr Roses class that was about 1960. the dark doorway was the only entrance to these buldings just beyond the dark doorway was some stinky pettys
Back row Lto R,
Gerry Dunne,Tommy Connor,Norman Sharples,Philip Fransen,Jack Lawton,Gerald Rodgers and John Webster.
Middle row L to R,
Ken Grimshaw,Roy Rodgers,Colin Burgess,David Coyle,Terry Byrne,Gilbert Wild and Jimmy Gibson.
At the front,
Left Frank Maunders and right Bill Fleetwood.
I LIVED I THE SAME ROW AS KENNETH GRIMSHAW, JUST IN FRONT OF THIS BUILDING, AND I REMEMBER COLIN BURGESS.
I would have played for the rugby team 1957-58 that would make me 4 or 5 years younger than Billy Fleetwood but I thought I was quite a bit younger than that, much nearer to his brother Peters age
Peter is 5 years younger than Bill Fleetwood.
