What is on the rest of the photograph?
i remember so well those windows when i attended there
I was at the convent from 1949 to 1954 and have mixed feelings about it, grateful for the chance of a grammar school education but I think I was too much of a free spirit to accept all the discipline. I remember the beautiful stained glass windows in the chapel and wonder what happenned to them. Some happy memories though.
The stained glass windows from the Chapel are in storage at St John's Church. It is quite difficult to see them as you would need to ask permission because they are hidden away in a small room just off the church.
I would love to see the windows again (and photograph them. Maybe we could organise a group to see them?
does any one remember my sister being at the school in about 1955 to ? her name was Cecilia Atherton and we lived in Dawson Avenue Wigan
My mum Rita Riley (Sullivan as she was then) designed the stained glass windows pictured here.
