Missing from this photograph but also in the same class were Martin Dawber and Mark Kysh.
Who said I had a bad memory?????
Actually, maybe my memory isn't that good after all! Also missing from this photo is Vince Marsden, Yvonne Porter and Diane Mcnamara.I don't believe I forgot Diane, she only lives round the corner from me.
None of you remember Tina Ratcliffe I see. If I remember correctly, this photo was taken around the time they moved the point at which your date of birth defined which class you was in. Tina was the youngest person in this photo and she had remain with Mrs Edwards for another year while we all moved up.
I have no clue who the girl next to Carol Blinkhorn is; it isn't Yvonne Porter; Yvonne had dark hair and until recently was living at Whitley Crescent in my mothers house which she moved into after my mother passed away.
the teacher on the far right is Mrs Edith Edwards, my great auntie, she died 3yrs ago at a nursing home, near to her oldest sons home in North Wales, aged 93. She was a very strict teacher, but a wonderful mother.
Suzanne, you're right, Mrs Edwards was very strict, but commanded respect from all her pupils. For years after I left (and she had retired before then), she would always chat and be interested in how I was doing whenever I saw her. She is fondly remembered.
Sorry to hear that Mrs Edwards is no longer with us, but glad to hear that lived to a ripe old age. She was a big influence and inspiration for me as a youngster, particularly for Tudor history, a big part of the year I spent in her class and something that has stayed with me until today. Lovely lady
3rd row, 2nd from left is actually me :) Caroline Keill.
I also have a copy of this photo, mine has all the names written in. I will try and upload a copy...
Mr Bridge came to live in Australia after he and his wife split.
Mr Bridge split from his wife a lovely lady. He came live in Australia worked at the same place as I did.
Me a lady named Peggy.
Mr Bridge didn’t go to Australia except in transit. He went to New Zealand, with his new partner and her children. One of them was me. I am researching Mr Bridge and would like to hear from anyone who can tell me anything about him.
