This is undated, but looks 1920s or 30s. The front of a coach may be seen poking out of Clarendon Street, beside the church. The shop front on the right is a mystery. In the 1925 Directory for the area the first house after the church was 287 Warrington Road, and it was ocuppied by a dressmaker, Mrs Ashurst, who would not necessarily be a shopkeeper. In a view from around the mid-60s 287 has no shop front.

I remember the Church just over the bridge. What a size!!

My parents were married in that church, i remember when they were knocking it down we were allowed to climb up to the bell and take a look at it, it was a fasinating experience.
