I meant to type Caroline Street near the centre of Wigan
Judith, I think you'll find that this location is the junction of Springfield Road, First Avenue and Throstlenest Avenue - in other words, just outside the church.

Judith. I think TB is right. You can almost see the house where I used to live in Springfield Road (just out of shot on the left).

Thank you for the correction, It was a little before my time to remember that is, I went to St Edwards but my dad's family all went to Sacred Heart.
