Hope you don't mind Ron, I've tried to improve (enhance) your photo. The computer algorithm that does this is a double edged sword - in some cases it works very well but at times (as can be seen in the distant faces) it can create a weird effect at times. It depends a lot on the original quality of the photo.

I love the ladies hats, its surprising how fashion comes back years later.Very nice photo of bygone days.It reminds me of playing dressing up as a young girl in my mothers and grandmother's shoes clothes and pearls.

My Winter hat is a 1920s style cloche hat and I get a lot of comments on it. I love these old photos.

I have been enjoying all the photos posted of Platt Bridge Walking Days. There are some from 1950. Apart from nostalgia I am impressed at how people took care to dress so smartly. As a little child I took part in the late 40s. I always got new white sandals for the two days. They were soon dyed navy to be practical! Also I loved popping the tar bubbles on the road. I don't know what I enjoyed more, popping the tar bubbles or following the band of the Boys' Brigade.
