Good photo of thomas,shame about the dolly tub creeping into the picture.

Yes Eddie, but that was life in those days we shared a yard with 3 other families, the dolly tub was the only means of washing, we only had 1 gas light in all the house. Mam had to boil water in a large gas copper boiler Mam worked really hard we are so lucky to have washing machines and hot running water

Yes anne i agree with you about them days i to was brought up then as well,my point was that whoever took the photograph could have just moved the dolly tub out of the plcture.

A lovely photo Anne, I remember we had a dolly tub as well growing up in Ince. My late mother-in-law, Kitty Fairclough lived near to you in Bradford Place, Chapel Lane before being re-housed at Marsh Green in 1961.
