This is the pic taken fromo Edwards shop on Warrington Road near the traffic lights

When we first moved to Platt Bridge from Ince in 1971, the building shown with bricked-up windows was still there, but the bit showing "Wigan to Preston" had gone. I think the building had been a waiting-room for trams, and when you walked behind it you could still see the old tram-lines.

I'm a bit out of my depth here, but could you catch a tram here and go to Preston?
