A job-lot of material was bought from Hart's in Wigan, and each little girl had their choice of design of dress, but they all had matching material. Usually there was a piece left over which was made into a little drawstring bag called a Dorothy-Bag, which was used to hold the threepenny bits and sixpences which people dashed into the road to give to the children in the procession. I love the old "tan-sad" type pram. A lovely photo.

I am on this picture and I have it on a Wigan calendar! Aim on second row fourth from left stood behind Lorraine Kennedy. Happy days
