Another great photo glenys, that looks like Tommy 3rd in the middle row.
The priest on the left was Fr Kennedy who went to Holy Family,Platt Bridge, and the one on the right looks like Fr McKillen, with Joe Hesketh in the middle.
On the left Frank Simpson (with the sash)followed by I think Reg Crompton, who was the manager of the wagon works.
On the other side Tommy Hidden, followed by John Hodkinson.
In the middle behind the priests was my grandfather Walter Appleby Fleetwood, followed by Charlie Hagan,Tommy and somebody who resembles my dad.Great memories thanks for putting the pictures on.

The Photo taken on Manchester road, top of Anderton street.
When we capture events like these, its interesting to look at the area and buildings aswell. This Photo certainly brings back memories for me. Spent many times with my mates in Anderton's Cycle shop, trying to repair our make-do-and-mend bikes. The sign on the side of shop read, Hercules Cycles. In Grant street (side of the shop) They sold Petrol and paraffin aswell, and Mr Anderton had his own milk round. At the corner of Careless Lane, was Hesketh brothers hardware store, you could buy anything from there, very helpful people. Top right corner, you can see the Police radio phone, Pole Mast. Shop left of photo, We used to call in there on our way to and from Rose Bridge School.
Thanks for sharing it.

I remember little Tommy, does anyone remember him knocking Brittens shop down with his jcb, I remember him having to jump for it as a large part came crashing down on his jcb. A few years ago I was in hospital and Tommy was in the ward, I reminded him of his escape and he was shocked at my memory. I remember because I got hit by an E type Jag as they were doing the job. I ran out between parked cars all excited and bang...They carried me into Dr Kathabs surgery over the road, I still have the scars...
