I went to school with Irene Spence. She attended St Lukes & I think she had a brother called Michael & one called John. She lived in Greenslate Road. If this is the same Michael Spence, I would really love to contact Irene. My maiden name was Houghton.

Hi Helen it is the same Spence family I am married to Michael.
Irene moved to Manchester when she married and still lives there.

Dorothy, I would love to hear from Irene if you read this, I have only just read your last post.

Hi Helen,
Sorry to tell you Irene passed away a couple of years ago(cancer)
It would have been her birthday on the 24th of August she would have been 64 years old.

So sorry to hear that, Dorothy. I know she would have been 64 about now, as she was the youngest child in our class at St James CP School. Our Dads died at around the same time in 1960.
