the british queen on the corner of wardley st used to have a good fishing club there in the late fifties early sixties,the opposite corner of wardley st would be where the british legion would be some great characters supped in those two places,good old days

What a fantastic photo. I walked with St John's Church ... but it was probably about 1966. Would love to see a photo of me one day on here. I remember my Grandad (McGovern) shouting me from the side of the road and putting a coin in my hand. Memories - they can hurt sometimes, eh? I still have the little pink lace gloves and the pink flower 'halo' I wore though don't remember the dress

my dad and his mates would sit outside the legion on walking day would get lot of pennies late 60's early 70's, good memories of the legion and the british queen with pauline the landlady and my dad singing in the legion

lots of good memories walking past thelegion on walking day, my dad and his friends waiting outside to give me pennies,also my dad used to sing in the british queen and the legion good memories with brian and pauline
