I'm pretty sure this is taken just after the island and into Poplar Ave (heading in the direction of the bottom of Birch Grove)

I agree with Sue, it's the beginning of Poplar Ave. at the Island. The young lad leading on the left is Trevor Lowe from Rectory Rd. and the chap in the blazer behind him is Mr.Smith from Elm Ave., who was also a leader in the BB.
yes , the photo is taken in Poplar ave , to the left of the picture is where my grandparents lived 31 Poplar ( Bill & Bertha Cunliffe ) and to the right of the picture is where Miley Frodsham lived . Good Photo
