They have had many competitive successes as holders of the prestigious St James’s Prize, the Christopher Rowland Chamber Music Ensemble of the Year Award and the Weil Prize amongst others. They were recently invited to take part in residencies in the Netherlands and Italy as part of the Orlando and Residart festivals respectively and were subsequently invited back the following year for the ’22 season. The trio has appeared at renowned festivals such as the Leeds International Chamber Festival, Festival dei Giovani musicisti europei di Mondovì, RNCM Chamber Music Festival and Lake Summer Music, and performed in venues including Wigmore Hall, Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi, Italy, Buxton Pavilion and St James’s Piccadilly.
The Larisa Trio love to perform music that spans widely across the chamber repertoire from the likes of Haydn, Mendelssohn, Ravel and Brahms. They are also passionate about new music, having worked with Michael Finnissy on a new Piano Trio dedicated to the ensemble as well as working regularly with Norfolk New Music.
As well as giving classical concerts worldwide, contemporary collaboration across the arts is an integral part of the trio’s ethos. Excessive Human Collective, a contemporary dance group, are long term partners of the trio. The trio have been supported by the PRS Foundation and Help Musicians for this collaboration.
Upcoming projects include a week long residency at the Schönberg Centre in Vienna and a series of concerts in Mondoví and Asti, Italy.
