Wigan Parish Church Accounts, April 1700

The accounts of William Smith and John Rigby, churchwardens of the Towne and parish of Wigan, beginning the second day of Aprill, 1700, and ending the two and twentieth day of April, 1701.

A couple of points to note are that Wigan was overrun by foxes many years ago, and the accounts show "a price set upon his head", proving that they were a nuisance, and there was a firm determination to get rid of them. Also, the biggest single spend during the year was for wine!
