Comment by: Mick on 21st November 2019 at 12:42

Shorts and tee shirt Mick,I presume it was not this week.

Comment by: Veronica on 21st November 2019 at 15:30

I hope it wasn't this week with those itsy-bitsy shorts...especially on a day like today with Jack Frost's delight in nipping extremities!

Been keeping an eye out for your bike around town Mick, but not heard your bell yet :)

16 49 why is it not dark at that time.

Comment by: Derek Platt on 21st November 2019 at 16:56

The reason it was a summer photo is, because of the shock of hearing the motorbike, Mick fell off his bike and has been recovering since

WN1 Standisher - posted on Wigan World General Messageboard, 17 July by FAT MICK. Several posts on the thread. And it is a great photo!

It is contrary to bylaws to ride a motorcycle on a canal towpath....end of ! ....I discovered this fact at some personal cost many years ago.
The photographic evidence in this instance is incontestable ...however...and ignoring the fact that this vehicle is neither taxed nor insured , the authorities have access to available technology to trace the registered keeper of this bike..... ( a green Aprilia 650 cc machine evidently ).
Will it happen ?.. .. extremely doubtful in my view.
Mick occasionally rides his bike on the pavement ( photographic evidence of this illegal activity does actually exist ),...as do I to be fair .. These acts also fall foul of the bylaws .
I guess we've both been fortunate insofar as neither of us has been hauled up before the beak , or at least I haven't anyway ...yet.
But it just goes to show , we are all living in an increasingly lawless society folks.
I reckon it all boils down to a choice between two options here ....zero tolerance , or the alternative live and let live option.....Which would be your choice I wonder?
Is illegality absolute , or are there acceptable degrees of illegality?
Answers on a postcard.

More like Live and Let Die I reckon Ozy. This could be a chase scene from Wigan's own Bond movie featuring Byrne. Mick Byrne.
