How about that, it's that bridge again.

Comment by: Alan lad on 26th November 2017 at 07:35

Interesting.

Comment by: Helen of Troy on 26th November 2017 at 07:41

I love these canal photos, you can get away from the noise & bustle walking along a tow path. Thanks again David.

Comment by: Maureen on 26th November 2017 at 07:46

What a lovely scene, the colours of the sun on the trees,on the clouds and the reflections on the water..the little bridge just finishes it off..a really lovely shot.

Comment by: Jim tomney on 26th November 2017 at 08:53

Another stunner to wake up to thank you .

Comment by: irene roberts on 26th November 2017 at 08:55

That's beautiful. You can almost feel the air cooling and the peace. I have lovely memories of Haigh.

We gotta get on home
It's late (It's late )
We've been gone tooooo long

Comment by: Elizabeth on 26th November 2017 at 10:07

It is lovely, Maureen you would do a brilliant job painting this scene.

Comment by: Mick on 26th November 2017 at 11:35

You would think with all the praise Maureen gets about how she could do a good painting of these Photo a Day that one day she might actually do one and show it on this forum.

Is that owd Ron we see?
Can't be,
Looks more like Mick to me,
It's late.

Comment by: AB on 26th November 2017 at 12:19

Great photo, as a lad the "pLants" was an adenture play ground and this bridge was over a pool entrance to a boathouse ( Long Gone) housed Wigan rowing club

Comment by: Maurice on 26th November 2017 at 12:29

Nice one, that bridge is maybe the most photographed one in Wigan.

Comment by: irene roberts on 26th November 2017 at 12:45

The praise for Maureen is much deserved as she is a very good artist as is Veronica.....two talented ladies, (and lovely with it!).

Comment by: Maureen on 26th November 2017 at 13:52

For your information Mick,I have just finished painting November 3rd p.a.d,and am waiting for it to dry.

Comment by: Maureen on 26th November 2017 at 13:54

Thank you Elizabeth and Irene, you're both very kind.

Comment by: britboy on 26th November 2017 at 14:28

A good reminder of serenity only minutes out of the busy Wigan town centre.
Interesting about there being a boat house many years ago at the “swan pond”

Comment by: Mick on 26th November 2017 at 14:31

And your good at dressing up Irene and lovely with it when you was 30 years younger.

Comment by: Elizabeth on 26th November 2017 at 15:18

I don't know Veronica , but she seems a lovely, caring lady who can and indeed does paint well.Maureen I know is a lovely, kind-hearted lady, who enjoys painting and speaking as one who has received one of her paintings, can say she is very talented. Why have you got such a gripe about Maureen, Mick???? Does her gift threaten you so much????? Get a grip and stop your ignorant snide, nasty remarks.

Comment by: Veronica on 26th November 2017 at 15:43

Irene is still lovely Mick- and she's very kind-I've also seen an example of Maureen's painting of George Michael and it's really good. Thankyou Elizabeth for your kind words.

Comment by: Maureen on 26th November 2017 at 16:42

Thank you Elizabeth,I don't know what is the matter with him,I have asked Brian to pit my painting on here by mail..so I'll see if it gets through..that might shut him up...I wish Mick would just explain why I seemingly irritate him so much.

Comment by: irene roberts on 26th November 2017 at 20:06

I wonder how you know what I looked like 30 years ago, Mick? The photos I have posted on here in 1940s costumes were taken recently. Veronica..... Elizabeth and Maureen are both friends of mine and lovely ladies; I think we should all team up and be "The Golden Girls", like that TV programme years ago. Maureen, I have no explanation of Mick's apparent dislike of you, and neither, I suspect, has Mick!

Comment by: Maureen on 26th November 2017 at 21:01

This will be my last posting on here..and shan't be persuaded to change my mind..thanks everyone for your support..and thank you to all that have put your lovely photos on here..bye ..it's so upsetting

Comment by: Dave on 26th November 2017 at 21:41

From one Dave to another iv'e just bought the Cannon G3X and from the quality of your last two photos Dave i think i made the right choice.

Comment by: Darren on 26th November 2017 at 23:47

I look at PAD every day, enjoy the pictures and comments on here,Until now i have never posted anything but enough is surely enough, I think its about time that clown from Shevington was banned from this site, always having a dig a peoples comments, puts down great photos, cries a lot when his dont get shown, he seems offensive, rude and ignorant, this site does not need his kind, Ladies on here rise above him, you are better than this sad excuse for a human being.

Comment by: Alan (on Vancouver Island) on 27th November 2017 at 18:35

Maureen, I have just read your final comment and I sincerely hope you will reconsider, and continue to take part. Ignoring constant trouble makers is the best option. Just don't read what he has written.

Comment by: irene roberts on 27th November 2017 at 22:20

Maureen, I agree with Alan. you are a valued contributor on here. x,

Comment by: JJp on 28th November 2017 at 06:56

Maureen, don't let some childish minded silly person get to you, you are a valued contributor to this site, stay with us, ignore them.

Comment by: Harry on 28th November 2017 at 07:25

Maureen I take it as a compliment that you have painted from my photo on November 3rd, and agree with Alan and Irene ignore nasty comments and please carry on. H.

Comment by: Maureen on 28th November 2017 at 09:37

I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kind words..you really are the nicest people that come on P.A.D..and Harry..as soon as I saw your photo I knew it had to be painted..I and Veronica love painting and sometimes you see something that inspires you and your photo did just that for me..as yet Brian hasn't put it on ,so to prove that I had done it I sent it to a couple of my dear friends.
I will give it another try and see if he stalks me again, that may sound melodramatic but that's exactly what it felt like..hes done it before..so once again thank you to you lovely people, you're a treat.x

Comment by: Maurice on 28th November 2017 at 10:44

Great news that you have changed your mind Maureen, just ignore him,if he stopped posting,I don't imagine many would be bothered, his comments are usually rubbish anyway.

Comment by: irene roberts on 28th November 2017 at 10:58

Maureen, maybe he doesn't see a good photo or painting because he needs his glasses changing as well as his nappy!

Comment by: Maureen on 28th November 2017 at 16:02

Irene, watch this space,he'll be lurking about..you can guarantee he'll be wondering what to pounce on next.

Comment by: Veronica on 29th November 2017 at 10:56

Maureen - continue to ignore
He won't bother you no more
Stay with the fold
