Is this what we fished in the 50's and 60's and knew as Harry Hortons Lodge?

Don't think so Fred, Houghtons/ Hortons lodge was on the opposite side of the road towards Beech Hill.

we used to hang out around there. We called it the Lodge. Is this the same place? I don't remember the trees back then

Isn't this Scot Lane New Pond, either made or enlarged when Scot Lane was extended to Woodhouse Drive? I have never been an angler but Wigan Anglers fish this pond.

Wasn't this pond was made to replace the one that was filled in when the road was built going under the railway, the stream that meanders down from Kitt Green alongside Lancaster Road and now goes through a culvert under the industrial estate runs into it.

There was some old demolished brick kilns around there at one time, and during the 1960s folks used to dump all sorts of rubbish there, it was a right eyesore then, a whole lot better now though.
