Good one John, stand by for the negatives. Where exactly was this?

Harry to me it looks like it was sat on somebody's hand.

When we went to Keilder Dam in Northumberland, we visited the Raptor Centre. There, I was able to have a hawk land on a gauntlet on my hand. it is a wonderful experience to be so close to such a creature.

Which one Mick?

That bird is a long way from home for an adolescent. It's home being the desert southwest of the U S and Mexico.

It looks like a left one Harry if you know what I mean.

It belongs to a friend of mine [Ian]I photographed it was over the rugby club. He tells me when is fully grown it will have a wing span of 4Ft. Its so nice to see it flying free, it follows him everywhere. Its so nice to see it fly back to him

What a brilliant photo of a beautiful bird. There is a gentleman in Abram who has a bird of prey and I often see him with it on Abram Park; it is wonderful to see it in flight. My daughter lives on Lewis and often sees eagles flying past her house, What magnificent creatures these wild birds are. Thankyou for posting.

I'm not sure on this one...should we really be keeping wild birds of prey as 'pets' ? It is a beautiful creature but.....
