Very good viewpoint Andrew. I like the perspective. When was it taken?
P-a-D 19th Oct.2012, taken by Dave (Oy), was from these steps.
Very glad your photo isn`t monochrome!
Derek Platt: you can now see from where Dave`e photo was taken.

Now that looks like a town people would visit, especially if there was/is industrial heritage too.

Nice photo Andrew, good grouping of buildings & the steps lead the way to look at more.

One of the few corners of Wigan that never changes much.

Comment by Cathy Bolton on 16th February 2013 at 10:55
How clever of you Andrew to find a view of Wigan that has remained almost the same for decades.
Years ago all the buildings would have been as grimy as the stonework at the side of the steps.
When was it all cleaned up?

a relaxing little spot that is .

Thanks folks.

Ernest, it was taken 14th October 2012. Both Oy and I were in the same spot taking similar photo's only a day or two apart!

For what it's worth, I prefer Dave's mono version!

The building looks nice from the outside but its run down inside.

I went in a couple of years ago to pick up my visitors passes for a Big Ben clock tower visit from my MP.

Thanks, Andrew. `The Wizard of Oz` (1939), was shown on TV this afternoon. The change to colour, when Dorothy emerges in Oz, is amazing.
