St Nathaniels, Platt Bridge

St Nathaniels, Platt Bridge
In the last week, scaffolding has gone up on the tower at St Nathaniel's, Platt Bridge. I'm not sure if this means repairs to the tower or pulling it down. Does anyone know?

This type of red brick always looks good, particularly on this attractive church.

I made the video Ernest, just loooked at Save Wigan and it says this,,,,

Ideas of demolishing the tower because of it's high maintenance costs.
