What an interesting picture! I like it --but I'm not sure yet whether I REALLY like it! It will take a bit of perusal.

If it wasnt on the road it could be a train.
How come this photo could be taken on the 11 February and be on Photo of the day by the 13 February do you have your a way of jumping the queue.

david, this is the new road from Wallgate to the Saddle junction built recently to reduce congestion. Not sure that it is working properly yet.Went from Asda into Wigan yesterday traffic was horendous.
Comment by Catherine on 13th February 2013 at 15:23
A new road? Does this mean I'm going to get lost going from Marus Bridge to Wigan when I come home next week?
Great photo Oy.
Comment by dave johnson on 13th February 2013 at 16:21
Very clever photo and perfect time of day.
The new road is for easing congestion coming out of Wigan and up to now seems to be working pretty well.

I noticed a few weeks ago when you had some photos taken from the lamp post cherry picker on photo of the day you said dont worry I wont be putting them on all at once.
Comment by Brian on 13th February 2013 at 23:01
Myself and Oy have access to put photo-a-day pics on the site. Sometimes I run low on pics or I'm too busy to add them so the queue runs low, Oy to the rescue! All help appreciated.
Comment by Mick on 13th February 2013 at 23:24
I was thinking that might be the case Brian.
If your ever running low again Brian you only have to ask.
Comment by Brian on 13th February 2013 at 23:34
Thanks Mick. I usually have several lined up but can't use every photo sent in.
Hope to open up the site soon for everyone to upload their photos, will be great.

Much later--I've decided I REALLY like it! Even though it makes me a little vertiginous!
Comment by philra on 17th February 2013 at 13:01
probably the best photo ever featured on this site!!
Comment by Roy on 17th February 2013 at 14:01
Ellen you cant be,you,re not looking down from a high place, not that i know of anyway, lol.Good shot Oy,i appreciate these 'technical' photos, with me being a point and press person.
Comment by Ellen on 19th February 2013 at 00:35
Roy; I am -and i'm not looking down at all! Vertigo is simply a sign of inner ear dysfunction for various reasons, and is not reserved to looking down!
