I was dis-oriented at first, and then it came to me. It's the top of Wallgate. I can see where I used to catch the Beech Hill bus many moons ago. It is a wonderful photo of a great building. Tell me, anyone, is this where the Moot Hall barbers used to be way back when.

Another high shot of our town...How do you get into all these buildings Brian.? Do you know someone on the inside? Great picture!

It's good to see these different angles. It's amazing that most of us never look up as well as looking ahead.Eye level is what we're used to.

The Moot Hall barbers were in the Commercial Yard further down market Place

Is this building called Moot Chambers because it is on the site of the original Moot Hall? I think that the Moot Hall is depicted on the old Wigan crest. Ancient and Loyal.

The Meadow Dairy, a grocers shop, was in the Moot Hall, many, many, years ago & my uncle was the Manager! Sawdust was on the floor & they had a bacon slicer of course.

Jean F (Wales); in Wigan World, click on `Forum`, then `Memories`, then `238 entries` which is underneath `Some shops that no longer exist....` and on page 2, Tony Johnson says Makinsons cafe was above Joan Barries.....
