Butterfly
Don't know what the butterfly is... it was a lot smaller than a red admiral though.

Beat me to it Dave, its a Small Copper.
There don't seem to have been many butterflies around this year, our buddleias are usually alive with them but I have only seen one Red Admiral so far.

Excellent photo Sandra, your right about there not being many butterflies around Helen as I've only seen a couple of small cabbage whites lately, there were plenty of wasps about early on in the year though so they'd probably taken plenty of caterpillars to feed their young grubs then.

went for a walk over the wigan flashes today it is alive with butterflies .... saw quite a few peacock butterflies ...
