That stone gatepost is all that remains of a large detached house that once stood there Mick, it was still there upto the late 1970's when it was demolished. I can't remember the name of the street it was on, but it would have originally run from what was St Catharine Terrace to Scholefield Lane.

Cyril, wasn't the street Birkett Bank Terrace.

yes it was Birkett Bank Terrace, number 18 was the last house to be demolished which belonged to my Auntie margaret

Who remembers a youth club near this spot called The White House Club, it was held in yea, A big white house. Going back to about 1969?

i played football for the white house footy team way back in the late 60s
my wife came from birkett street we used to have a garage near to this post
it overhung the hill, scary parking the car in the garage at night.
