Westwood  The Pony Dick Inn, Billinge Road
Got its name from the favourite white pony owned by Squire Meysick Bankers. The pony died in 1841, aged 36 and was buried near Winstanley Hall, the gravestone is still there.
Cooling towers  Rainford House
Built in Winstanley in 1665 but was demolished in 1967 to make way for new houses.

Originates from c1560 and occupied by the Bankes family for nearly 400 years until 1984, it is now for sale.
