Wigan’s Over 50s Forum has gained its 300th member — less than three years after it was founded.
80 year old Peggy Leigh, of Pemberton, becomes the latest addition to the group having been nominated by close friend and existing Forum member, Bertha Abbott.
The Forum gives a platform to the borough’s older people so that they can influences the way they are treated, provides practical advice, and makes sure that issues of concern are raised with those who can do something about them.
Wigan Council’s Network Co-ordinator for Older People, Helen Coffey says:
“We are proud to have reached this milestone within three years of formation and delighted to have Peggy on board. She’ll certainly bring plenty of experience!”
