Theft of High Value Saws
Tuesday 29th March, 2005

Officers in Wigan are appealing for information following a high value burglary that occurred overnight on Friday 25 March 2005.

Staff at the building yard on Sovereign Road contacted the police shortly before 9.00am on Saturday morning, 26 March, after they discovered that a number of high-powered saws had been stolen.

It is thought that the offenders managed to get into the yard and with the use of screwdrivers they prised open and ground floor window and stole 14 Stihl saws and other various tools.

The goods taken had a value of 14,800 and officers are asking anyone who may have been offered a saw or knows anything about the burglary are asked to contact Field Intelligence Officer Neil McMahon on 0161 856 9584 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Stihl saws are usually used to cut through concrete.
