|Bon Marché - the French are back in town
Get ready to go continental as Wigan town centre prepares to welcome back a hugely popular market with a distinctly Gallic air.
Market Place on Standishgate will play host to a French market from Wednesday 29th March until Saturday 1st April.
There will be a host of vibrant stalls selling fresh bread, sausages and cooked meats, cheeses, olives, jams, perfumed soaps, cashmere jumpers, baskets and much more beside.
In fact, everything that's sold on a typically French market will be in Wigan, and the four-day market will be open each day from 9am until 5pm.
Wigan Council's markets' manager, Philip Edge, said: "The French market will provide a real slice of France and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, aromas and tastes without having to cross the channel.
"I'm sure anyone who goes will find it a highly enjoyable way to spend the day. The French market was last in Wigan in November and traders reported it was one of the most successful events they have had in England so far.
"If you're feeling brave you can even practise your French with the traders, although their English is certainly a lot better than my French!" added Mr Edge.
