Police release details of a man they wish to trace in connection with stabbing

Detectives in Wigan have released details of a 24-year-old man they wish to trace in connection with a stabbing in Wigan on Thursday 16 February 2006.

Police would like to speak to Neil Shaun HORE, DOB 23/04/1981, about the incident.

Officers were called to King Street in Wigan shortly after 3am following reports a man had been stabbed.

The 25-year-old man is still being treated at Wigan Royal Infirmary for several stab wounds to his side and neck. He is described as being in a poorly but stable condition.

The stabbing is believed to have happened following an altercation.

The alleyway between King Street and Library Street, which is believed to be the scene of the incident, was closed for several hours on 16 February but has now been reopened.

Police also need to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident.

A 28-year-old man from Wigan has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and is continuing to be interviewed by officers.
