Aspull Civic Hall - Alive and Kicking!
Councillors Chris Ready and John Hilton raising a toast to the revamped Aspull Civic Hall.

Wigan Council chiefs today raised a toast to Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s refurbishment of Aspull Civic Hall. Having been given a whole new look, the WLCT-run Hall, is now aiming to offer people greater incentives to use the revamped facilities for family and social events.

“Aspull Civic Hall is a family-orientated venue with a warm, friendly atmosphere which the recent makeover further enhances,” said Councillors Chris Ready and John Hilton. “It truly is a unique venue set in beautiful surroundings. We greatly appreciate the effort that has been made by WLCT to make it an even more attractive place to hold family celebrations”.

As part of the drive to increase activity at the revamped Hall, Brian Yates, Leisure Venues Manager has introduced an exciting special offer. “Anyone who makes a booking before June 2005, for a Friday night celebration that takes place before June 2006, has the incentive of being able to reserve the venue for free,” said Brian. “This will be particularly attractive for any special event or family celebration. Feel free to come and view the venue before booking.”

The makeover is a real boost to Aspull’s community which now has a venue to be proud of. No longer will people feel the need to venture into nearby Westhoughton and Bolton to hold their celebrations.

“We would like to thank Aspull juniors football club and Aspull bowling for their continued support of the hall. John and I have constantly had to fight for Aspull Civic’s future and see it as a vital part of the community. The makeover is just reward for people’s effort and patience,” remarked Councillor Chris Ready.
