Wigan's Christmas Light Switch-On Event Is Hackered!

Within days of announcing that a star from XFactor will be attending this years Wigan Town Centre Christmas Light Switch on Event, Wigan Town Centre management, The Galleries and Grand Arcade have also announced that Hacker T Dog will also make a guest appearance during the evening too!

The Christmas light switch-on event takes place on Thursday 17 November between 4.30pm and 7.30pm in Market Place in the town centre and includes, Hacker T Dog from BBC Children's TV show Hacker Time, along with a guest appearance from an XFactor star (details to be announced within the next week) and a whole host of other acts and performers keeping the crowds entertained until 7.30pm. Hacker T Dog is from Wigan and presents on the CBBC Channel too.

On Sunday 20 November, Wigan town centre’s Santa and his reindeer parade starts at 1pm from Mesnes Park arriving at Market Place at 1.30pm. The parade includes marching bands, costume characters and much, much more. Following the parade, Santa and his reindeers remain in Market Place along with the performers until 4.30pm.

John Sanson, Centre Manager of the Grand Arcade commented:
“Wigan Town Centre, The Galleries and Grand Arcade are delighted that Hacker are joining us on stage for the town’s Christmas light switch on event. We are sure that the free entertainment we have planned will provide families of Wigan with a Christmas spectacular!”

Wigan Town Centre management, The Galleries and Grand Arcade have joined together to organise this years Christmas events. The Christmas light switch on event launches late night shopping in the town with shops open until 8pm.
