|Armed robbery at Indian restaurant
Detectives in Wigan are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at an Indian restaurant in Golbourne last night, Wednesday 28 September.
Shortly after 10.40pm, it is believed two men armed with handguns burst in through the front door of the Suhana Indian Restaurant on High Street.
One of the men confronted two members of staff, threatening them with the gun and demanding the contents of the till.
The man then went behind the bar area and stole a quantity of cash before running out of the front door with the other offender. They then turned left and ran along High Street towards the A580 East Lancashire Road.
Four members of staff and five customers were in the restaurant at the time of the incident. They were not injured during the incident but were left shaken.
One of the men is described as white, aged 16 to 20-years-old, of slim build, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall and with short dark curly hair. He was wearing a black tracksuit top and black tracksuit trousers with a single stripe down each leg. He also had a dark coloured bandana scarf covering the lower part of his face. He wore dark shoes and spoke with a Merseyside accent.
The second man is described as white, approximately 18-years-old, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and with short dark hair. He was also wearing a dark coloured tracksuit.
