Hawkley Soccer Academy kicks off…sign on this Saturday!
Tuesday 27th September, 2005

Footballers aged 6 to 11 have the chance to sharpen their skills at the new Hawkley Soccer Academy.

Wigan’s newest all-weather pitch, at Hawkley Hall High School, is the venue for the Saturday coaching and playing sessions. Players can sign on at the special Registration Day this Saturday, October 1, between 10am and 1pm. Bring your kit for a free, friendly kick-about on our superb new pitch!

The Hawkley Soccer Academy is run by Hawkley FC, a well-established local amateur and junior club, which is working in partnership with Hawkley Hall High School, to develop and expand soccer coaching and playing facilities for children from the Wigan area.

“Both boys and girls are welcome, and the emphasis will be on enjoyment and encouragement, as we aim to help the children develop their skills and learn the game in a safe, friendly and fun environment,” said Hawkley Soccer Academy organiser Phil Owen.

“Sessions will be led by FA-qualified coaches, and Hawkley Soccer Academy supports and applies official FA policy on Child Protection, which ensures that the safety and welfare of the children is the top priority.”

Hawkley Soccer Academy’s first autumn season kicks off on Saturday October 8. Players can join at the Registration Day on October 1, or places can be booked by phoning one of the organisers:-

Gareth Francis 01942 706575;
Phil Owen 01942 492180.
