Couple missing from home - Wigan
Missing: Sarah-Jane Usher and George Baker

Officers in Wigan are appealing for information about a couple who went
missing from home almost two weeks ago.

George BAKER (DOB: 08/10/74) and his girlfriend Sarah-Jane USHER (DOB:09/10/85) were last seen at their home on Gorman Street in Wigan on
Thursday 11 August 2005 by Mr Baker's parents.

Mr Baker has two children, an eight-year-old son and six-year-old daughter. His parents had gone to the house on Gorman Street at approximately 8pm to collect their grandchildren who were going to spend the night with them. This is the last time the couple were seen.

Since then they have not made contact with any members of the family.

It is not thought George or Sarah-Jane has access to their own mode of transport. Police believe they may have been at Southport train station on Wednesday 17 August 2005 at around 8am.

George's disappearance is said to be completely out of character and it is very unusual for him to have left his children.

He is orginially from Liverpool and Sarah-Jane is from Ormskirk. George
works as a cleaner at a commercial van hire company in Wigan and had been to work the day before he went missing on Wednesday 10 August 2005. Sarah-Jane is a housewife.

George is described as being white, of medium build and between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall. He has short brown hair, blue eyes and speaks with a Liverpool accent.

Sarah-Jane is described as being white, of slim build and approximately 5ft tall. She has long blonde hair, green eyes and wears glasses. She also speaks with a Liverpool accent.

Anyone who has any information about the couple's whereabouts is asked to contact police in Wigan on 0161 856 7124 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
