Fail to stop RTC, Newtown
Monday 21st February, 2005

Traffic officers in Wigan are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was injured in a fail to stop road traffic collision in Newtown yesterday evening, Sunday 20 February 2005.

At approximately 6.20pm, the boy was crossing Ormskirk Road at the junction of Westminster Street when he was involved in a collision with an X-registered Vauxhall Vectra.

The car, described as blue or green, failed to stop at the scene and continued to travel along Ormskirk Road. It is believed the front windscreen has been damaged as a result of the collision.

The boy, from Wigan, suffered head injuries and a broken leg and was taken the Wigan Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Anyone who may have seen the collision or anyone with further information is asked to contact traffic officers at Wigan on 0161 856 7273/4 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
