I have some information for Bill Jolley re his grandmother Martha Prescotts history. I think we have a connection on the Prescott Family Tree. Where will I find your email on genealogy Bill ? I read your comment on 3 pics that were posted on the album (people) by Fred Foster in 2014.

I do remember the Paris trip, although I wasn't a participant. I believe it was open to fourth forms and up, one of my friends went and brought me a souvenir of two silk scarves. There was a later trip to Yugoslavia, when Mr.Maggs almost got arrested for turning a portrait of Marshall Tito face to the wall! I was fortunate enough to go to Switzerland on a winter trip to Switzerland in my Lower Sixth year.

Comments I am researching my family tree. My granddad's name was Lowe. His family were all miners in Ashton in Makerfiekd and Ince. Any aloes on here? My grandad moved to Blackburn after the First World War and had a big family - 11 kids. He had a brother Joe, who lived in Wigan. Any Loews on here - we could be related!

Comments I'm trying to register with Wigan World as I see a thread regarding my ancestors who originated in the Wigan area. However, the site will not allow new registrations. Will this be fixed, as I want to contact a poster who has info on my family tree?

Comments Why do you smell a rat Lectriclegs ?
Cant remember where abouts in the Wigan area the said tree was, it wasnt a tree just put up for the festivities, it had been planted about a year ago & was decorated for Christmas. The locals interviewed on the show said they thought the council was being miserly...even had a councillor putting her pennyworth in....no rats to be seen or smelt !
