Hi, i just want to let people know about this army surplus store that i stumbled across a few days ago its in Leigh just off twist lane, i was stuck in traffic due to the roadworks and saw a sign advertising army surplus, my curiousity got the better of me and i decided to turn down Welch hill street to take a gander! Im glad i did because i walked out with an amazing Dutch army goretex jacket at a very very good price, i do a lot of hill walking so this will come in ideal, i usually buy from go outdoors etc but now i think im converted, because i bought a top-spec jacket for just a little over £40 ( the cheapest berghaus goretex jacket that i own cost me £1oo and it isnt a patch on this Dutch army one!!)
Anyways without rambling on too much, i had a good chat with the owner and he gave me a business card, he has a website too www.imsc.co.uk, there is some good deals on the website and all U.K. deliveries are free, there is an awful lot more stock on the premises than what is on the website, the owner said that he has been there for 6 years or so??, (ive never heard of the place either!!) if anyone is interested though i would highly recommend a visit. Very Happy

Hi samba, only just read your message, well obviously there is a lot of dpm gear there (seeing as though its a surplus shop!) but they also have a lot of neutral colour gear i.e. olive green, black etc, the best thing about this shop is that they only sell genuine military surplus, so there is none of the commercially made Chinese rubbish that seems to be the norm for sale in so-called army shops, i was down there again on saturday and managed to bag a brand new U.k. Police fleece jacket in black for £14!! i also treated myself to a pair of German army Goretex mountain boots, the best purchase i had ever made and cost me £40 odd quid, To buy the civillian version of these new then you wouldnt expect much change from £140!!
I, myself do a lot of hill walking, camping etc and had my eye of one of them Dutch army hooped 1 man bivi tents, i plan to purchase one of them next week when my money is in the bank!!
My mate who went with me on Saturday uses a lot of surplus clothing as he works in the building trade and is an avid fisherman and when we left the shop he said that it was a little goldmine with a lot of quality gear and very favourably priced, i think that it is well worth a visit.
