Thanks Ian, much appreciated we don't get much feedback and pretty much work on the passion and drive we have.
Check the site for a huge update on Kirkless by 'dirtbiker'.
On the agenda are the Underground Canal at Taylor Pit (hopefully with Wigan Arch Society) and also Winstanley Hall and what Tim Banks is up too. _________________ www.wiganhistorysearch.co.uk

I am documenting Haigh Hall and the Earl's of Crawford, 23rd to the 28th.
The current 29th Earl is at Balcarres in Fife, and has many great memories and links with the town of over 700 years. _________________ www.wiganhistorysearch.co.uk

The Earl's have now been documented in seperate posts to avoid text congestion (and eyes going funny!).
I have also added information about the current Earl of Crawford (29th).
Fascinating reading in to a former empire of Haigh Hall Estate. _________________ www.wiganhistorysearch.co.uk

More on the Earl's of Crawford. you may need to access the post itself as it doesn't show any update.
I simply "edited" the post with more info. Found in 'The Library'. _________________ www.wiganhistorysearch.co.uk

I am gonna upset someone here I know, but my criticism is meant to be constructive, not negative.
The logo pic on your forum is far to big, it dominates each page, if it was just the home page I could live with it... but having to scroll past it on every page is a bit of a chore, and others will think the same and get fed up... and go.
It would be best to go for something more like a banner... like this...
... not specifically that one, it is just an example.
Sorry if I offend, it IS only my opinion. |

Whilst on an outing at work, i visited the Stockport Public Air Raid Shelters.
Fascinating stuff, gives you an idea of the time and the organising which went with it.
