The Latics don't deserve to go down, they are a good team,

They need all the support they can get,I saw them get robbed last week at Arsenal,a real shame to loose valuable points like that.

I was amazed to read that some refs are afraid to award penalties against some home teams,is that really true???

Graham Poll, Englands senior referee (well he was until summer when he gave the same player 3 yellow cards in the World Cup before sending him off) went on the record in a book (i cant remember the name of the book or the author) to pretty much say yes that is true.

Incidentally Paul Jewell has received a cheque for 25 from an un-named Premier League referee to go towards his defence fund when he goes before the FA. He was charged with telling the referee "you need locking up" after that Arsenal game and is likely to face a 10,000 fine and a two game ban.

I bet he wished he'd used the F word now. I mean, if you are going to get fined 10,000 you might as well use fowl language.

It will be interesting to see how things progress. Aparently, some of the Wigan players have lodged a complaint against Dowd for swearing at them. Not sure what the official FA stance is on swearing, but there's a hell of a lot of it going on during the game and most of it comes from players. If I was a ref I'm sure I'd be swearing back too Very Happy

Big game for Wigan tonight (not showing it over here Sad) so will be listening to it on Wish FM.

A lot more twists & turns to go yet, this Filan save might just have been the turning point to keep in the moneybags league.
