Just noticed the thread on the message boards.

The car is towed but not on a low loader and the actors can't see out of the front window on the close ups as it's towed because it's blanked out and fitted with 6 cameras to film peter.

I worked on this series over 18 months ago and will post pics later.

The nick name on set for the car used for all the close up was Johnny Five after the short circuit robot. Due to all the technology it was packed with. Two cars were used one fitted with cams for internal shots and one peter drove for all the external shots

Do you know something Darren, you are an absolute Toool , you really are

If you took that picture 18 months ago, that means you would have taken the picture at the end of November, when it is nearly December and in nearly December, it is not summer and clearly the vegetation in the picture of yours is summer vegetation, not nearly December vegetation, so it was filmed last summer wasn't it Smile

Darren ,, you want your brain seeing too .....

Gordon, It was filmed a long while ago. In the first episode you can actually see me. I did mostly behind the scenes work but did help out in one scene in front of camera. You can also see Peter drive past my car about 4 times in the first two episodes Smile

The second photo is actually the inside of the supermarket you see them walking into. It's just an old empty unit at the side of an Halfords.

You're right in one respect, it was not 18 Months ago... It was 2 years ago

The back window being dirty was done by the arts department. Main reason it prevents sun light from glaring the cameras.

Thanks for the inside info, Puppetman. I'm glad you cleared things up as I was a bit perturbed Peter's eyes never seemed to be properly on the road. Very Happy

Really enjoyed the series & thought it ended on a moving note.Smile

I only managed to catch one episode of this and it passed through Walkden town centre. That one I watched I found very funny and different to his usual stuff and much more preferable.

Peters own production company produced the show.

To answer a question on the message boards. It was towed by a van that actually contained the recording equipment and crew. They don't really use low loaders as much anymore.

this is very similar to how peter was filmed driving. Only difference all the cameras were in the car.

In this little video you can see the blue van (Tow/Crew Vehicle) and the car peter drives with front window blanked out.

There's a Google Street View of the Halfords store from Manchester Road and the car park from off Viaduct Road Altrincham, but I can't get the address to open as a link, it does work if you copy and past it in a browser bar though. The street view of the unit from Viaduct Road is blocked by a lorry.
