If I had paid to slide down there I would want my money back because there not enough water flowing down it.

Just look at Jagmans video people are needing to be pulled down.

I know it was for charity but the ones taking part who had raised money should have got a water slide that you could slide.

It was poorly done by Wigan council and the Wigan hospice if it was them who organized it.

If I had been in charge of the event and could see that the slide wasnt slippery enough I would have nipped into Wilkos and bought a few bottle of there cheapest fairy liquid to get it going.

Fantastic photos, Oy. Smile

I saw a volunteer with what looked to be a 2 litre bottle of washing up liquid yesterday, Mick.

@WL_Hospice today Loads of foam at #tickettoslide #wigan

I had to laugh when I saw these photos. It looked like great fun but only in Wigan would you go on a water slide fully clothed in August!

You can see a girl holding an almost empty liquid soap container in photo 8 Mick.

They would have raised a lot more money if they'd had Smith and Molyneux sliding down whilst folks water bombed them.

There's frost and even snow forecast for Scotland and the North East BritgirlinKy. Very Happy

Wow Cyril. Snow in August. That's a bit rough. We're heading for a heat wave here this week but it's pouring down today.

Just hope the weather picks up later in the month and in September for an Indian Summer as it makes Autumn and ultimately Winter that little bit shorter.

From Wigan & Leigh Hospice's FB Page Smile :

A BIG thank you to everyone who helped at our Ticket to Slide event this weekend ...

This was our first time for this event and we have learned some lessons and will now reflect and endeavour to make it even bigger and better next year, but on behalf of all our patients, volunteers and staff we are very grateful and the event helped to boost Hospice Funds by approximately 10,000.

THANKYOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!

It wasnt working perfectly on Jagmans video, it only started working proper when the water was turned up and fairy liquid added .

It was working fine for a few hours before that. There was about 30min when they ran out of detergent and it looks like that was when Jagman made his video. After a run to Wilkinson's for loads more things got going again nicely.

The amount of water they can use is limited - as it has to go somewhere when it gets to the bottom!

If they do it again next year maybe Wigan Park or that steep hill just inside Haigh plantation gates would be a better place to hold it.
