Hi jud, can you give us a bit more info please?
Does it happen if you are using the keyboard or the mouse?
Does everything on your screen change size or is it just your web browser's content that changes size? If you do not know try minimising everything next time it happens to see if your desktop icons are the usual size.
Desktop or laptop computer?

hi arrow,
i am on a laptop and use the touchpad.if i am playing a game for example on facebook like scrabble and am moving my hand over the pad the board goes smaller and obviosly the letters.sometimes i can get it back by tapping on each side of the pad at the same time, but this is hit and miss as i am not sure what exactly i am doing.i have been told that you can press two keys on the keyboard simaltaniously which will alter the size but i have forgotten what they were.

Pressing the left CTRL key together with the 0 key may get it back the correct size.
Sounds like your touchpad has gestures enabled. This article talks about how to disable gestures,
