The last wall came down today - what a waste of 110 year old pub which means another landmark gone...





i got my bits of the pub though he he..



slightly damaged but in one piece.

Shame about that it was a very nice building, and in stark contrast to the ugly box looking ones they are throwing up today.

I drove past there last week and it was sad to see the state of the place. Another landmark gone. The only way to remember it is the name of the bridge.

Something to do with the plough, both the celestial and farm implements. Some pub signs for pubs called 'The Plough' had seven stars instead of 'a' plough. Seven Stars was a kind of nickname which became the normal name.

Right... now I m off to Google it.... Very Happy

Edit... Plough: an easy object to find to put outside a pub in the countryside. Some sign artists depict the plough as the constellation; this consists of seven stars and so leads to the name the Seven Stars found in Redcliffe, Bristol, Shincliffe, County Durham, Chancery Lane, Robertsbridge and High Holborn.

Not many pubs left,it was a very nice building,but I only went in once to a wedding reception,it was'nt in the handiest spot,good idea to keep record photo's of the pub.
