Just a few images of Manchester taken yesterday

A Goth Christmas gathering

A street musician plays a traditional instrument from Mali

Another street performer poses as a statue

Kids enjoying the snow slide in Piccadilly Gardens

Manchester's arty Christmas tree

Evening shopping on Oldham St - my favourite part of the city

Another fun shop on Oldham St

Still one of my favourite places to shop - Afflecks

Maybe she's a bit embarrassed with so many people looking through the glass at her

Wall art on Tib St

Bright lights on Market St

Smashing pics, thanks for sharing Gaudette Smile
Busy but not packed out?
I really like the Goth pic, a group of friends so interested in something or someone is sharing out some goodies, Chrissy hats on for young Goth Christmas!, and that gorgeous blue hair, long and vibrant!
Just something about the pic, youth having a good time all in good company
and their freedom to be. I think you have captured their friendship in that pic. Very Happy

I hate boxing, Captain, so I don't know what Ricky Hatton looks like, I'm afraid. I'll take your word for it, though.

He was amazing, showing no signs of movement at all. I normally ask people's permission before taking their photograph, but in his case I didn't want to force him to move or speak, so I just threw some money into his tin and took the photo. I hope he didn't mind. I expect he'd have reacted if he did.

Thanks, Fert. I like the picture of the young Goths, for the same reasons. Very Happy

You're quite right - busy, but not packed. It could be that most people had done their Christmas shopping before Tuesday and that it was only those last-minute, disorganised folks like me who were out and about.

Hope you had a great Christmas! Very Happy

Some good pictures there. Shame about the arty Xmas tree - I don't think it suits the traditional occasion of Christmas TBH.

Hi Milla. Yes, it's a traditional instrument from Mali, which is where the man originates from.
