Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan insists that the new owners of the Warriors will pay rent to him.

Failing that they are quite free to look elsewhere.

60.000.000 million tv money, 1.500.000 every time we're on the telly, and rent from the warriors will make Latics a tidy profit every year, don't you think? Very Happy

Both Latics and Warriors already pay rent to use the JJB STADIUM... No difference there then...

the difference is the warriors (an outside business) will be paying rent to mr whelan, who by definition, is wigan athletic.

with regards to mr whelan's lack of spending on latics, i would say he has spent more than enough.

Most of the other Premiership clubs haven't had to pay for a new stadium as well as incoming players.

Three years in the Premiership will ensure the DW has got all the money back that he paid for the stadium and will wipe out Latics' debts.

He knows where the money and the future lies in this town. Why else would he offload JJB Sports and the Klumps?

All we need now is the football supporters in this town, to get behind their own home town team instead of jumping on somebody else's band wagon.

Tell me I'm wrong.

YAWN

87 years left for both teams to pay welco for use of the ground

DW unfortunatly can't do a lot except sit back and take latics money aswell as warriors as both clubs and the wigan council have a stake in the company that owns the stadium <doh>

how many homer simpsons live in Wigan

try to be proud that a small town has two clubs in the top tier if there respective sports

rugby league and association football are not rivals they don't play each other so calm down and enjoy what ever sport you prefer and leave the other ( don't get jealous )

Since the Premiership AND the demise of the Warriors all of a sudden we are a "Sporting Town" Cool

Fair enough comment, however I will always back my team & town when wrongly accused Very Happy

not sure where your team have been wrongly accused ?

but maybe a trip to the library should be in your future as for sporting town i have explained that in the other thread

wigan has always had a great sporting heratage and always been classed as a sporting town

maybe not in your head but in the outside world it has Wink
