I have recently lost my wife to Cancer and am very lonely. I have been looking for help but am having very little success from the outside world. Most things on offer are held at night time, but I am 80 years old and do not like driving in the dark. Can anyone help me please ?

nephro there was a Wiganworlder from Ince who was going through what your going through right now, maybe you could get together, but Ive forgotten his name at the moment.
He always mentioned going to Morrison for his dinner.
Theres another member named Roy as well he was on about somebody pinching the ornaments from his wifes grave .

Sincere condolences nephro.

There was quite a few luncheon and afternoon clubs running at one time, but you never hear of them nowadays, there's links to two which I could find below, there's also Day Centres sited around Wigan, my wife's aunt attended one two days a week and she liked going.

Is there anyone out there who is recently bereaved and lonely who would like to get together for a meet up male or female. i'm not talking romance or sex but companionship. I would prefer Ashton in Makerfield but any where around Wigan would also suit. We could meet up at some cafe to try to get a kind of group together for a meal out or perhaps a walk or even a ride out to the country. Any one interested please reply and we could arrange the get together.
